Tuition Assistance (Zakat-eligible)
NAML Academy maintains a financial aid fund that provides tuition assistance to families who qualify. Contributions to this fund are Zakat-eligible, meaning donors in the community can direct their obligatory giving toward supporting students in need.
Assistance is awarded based on demonstrated financial need. Families interested in applying should contact the admissions office directly to request an application and learn about the review process.
For current eligibility criteria, deadlines, and award details, please contact the school office.
Special Education Funding
Students enrolled in NAML's Special Education program may be eligible for state and federal funding that offsets tuition and service costs. These funds can cover tuition assistance for families whose TEFA funding does not cover the full cost, specialized therapy services (speech, occupational, physical, and behavioral), classroom aides and behavioral interventionists, adaptive learning materials and assistive technology, and emergency financial aid for families facing hardship.
Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, dyslexia, and processing disorders are among those who have benefited. NAML also maintains a donation fund specifically for Special Education students, allowing community members to support this program directly.

Support the Special Education Financial Aid Fund
Why donate
Your gift to the NAML Academy Financial Aid Fund goes directly to special education students who need more than ESA or TEFA funding covers. That can mean:
- Extra instructional support beyond what ESA covers
- Specialized therapy (speech, occupational, and physical)
- Classroom aides and behavioral interventionists
- Adaptive learning materials and assistive technology
- Tuition help for families who do not receive full ESA funding
- Emergency aid for families facing hardship
Every gift, large or small, helps close the gap between what funding covers and what a child actually needs to thrive.
Who it helps
Your donation supports:
- Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Students with ADHD, learning disabilities, dyslexia, and processing disorders
- Children who need individualized academic support and emotional guidance
- Families facing financial hardship even with ESA eligibility
How funds are used
Every donation is allocated responsibly and transparently. Gifts may support:
- Tuition assistance for costs not fully covered by ESA
- Instructional support: additional special education teachers, aides, and staff
- Specialized therapy: contracted speech, occupational, and behavioral services
- Classroom resources: sensory tools, adaptive furniture, visual learning aids, and assistive technology such as tablets and communication devices
- Emergency support: short-term aid for families in crisis so a child's care continues
TX Empowerment Voucher (TEFA)
NAML Academy has been approved to participate in the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program. This state-funded voucher lets eligible families use public education dollars toward tuition at an approved private school like NAML.
The program begins in the 2026 to 2027 school year. Based on publicly available state information, it is open to all Texas public school-eligible children from Pre-K through 12th grade with no income cap, though priority is given to students with disabilities and to low-to-moderate-income families. General funding is approximately $10,000 to $10,900 per year, and students with disabilities may qualify for up to $30,000 per year. Funds are managed through an Education Savings Account overseen by the Texas Comptroller.
The state is expected to finalize its rules and open the application portal by May 2026. We encourage families to apply and complete enrollment as soon as the portal opens to secure their child's spot.
Have a question about TEFA before the state portal opens? Contact the office and we will walk you through the process.
